Voting Options for July 15 Statewide Special Primary for Georgia Public Service Commission District 3
On July 15, a statewide Democratic Special Primary Runoff for Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC) District 3 will be held. No candidate received a majority of votes cast in the June Democratic Special Primary for PSC District 3, necessitating a runoff. The winner of this Democratic Runoff advances to the November Special Election as the Democratic candidate for PSC, District 3. Each member elected to the PSC shall be required to be a resident of the PSC District they represent and shall be elected statewide by the electors of Georgia.
Runoff Voter Eligibility
In addition to being a registered voter in Forsyth County by the May 19, 2025, voter registration deadline, a voter’s eligibility to vote in this Special Primary Runoff is also dependent on their voting choice in the June 17 Special Primary.

Eligible Forsyth County registered voters have three options for casting their ballot in the Runoff.
Advance Voting in Person
Advance Voting for the July 15 statewide Democratic Special Primary Runoff for Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC) District 3 will be available Monday, July 7, through Friday, July 11, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily at the Forsyth County Voter Registrations & Elections Office (1201 Sawnee Drive). Eligible Forsyth County registered voters may take advantage of Advance Voting in person at the Elections Office regardless of their assigned Election Day precinct. There are no Saturday or Sunday voting options for the Runoff. Voters are encouraged to take advantage of the extended weekday voting hours.

Election Day Voting in Person
FOR THIS RUNOFF ONLY: On Election Day, Tuesday, July 15, eligible Forsyth County voters will go to the Cumming Recreation & Parks Department Event Center located at 437 Pilgrim Mill Road, Cumming, GA 30040 to cast their ballot. This polling place will be open for voting on Election Day, Tuesday, July 15, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Pursuant to Georgia election code O.C.G.A. 21-2-270, which allows counties that had less than 1% of the total registered voters participate in the June Democratic Special Primary the option to change Election Day polling places, Forsyth County will open only one polling place on Election Day. This change in Election Day polling place is ONLY in effect for the Runoff. Voters will return to voting at their assigned Election Day polling place for the November 2025 elections.

Absentee Voting by Mail
Another voting option available to voters unable to vote in person is to request an absentee ballot be mailed to them. Forsyth County registered voters can apply for an absentee ballot online, by mail or by emailing a scanned copy of their signed application to the Voter Registrations & Elections Office at absentee@forsythco.com. The last day to submit an absentee ballot application and the last day the Voter Registrations & Elections Office will issue absentee ballots by mail for this election is Monday, July 7. Voted absentee ballots can be returned as soon as they are voted. Voted absentee ballots must be received by the Voter Registrations & Elections Office by 7 p.m. on Election Day to be counted. The postmark date does NOT count.
