Forsyth County government offices will be closed Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day. This includes County and park offices, recreation centers, senior centers and recycling convenience centers.

Board of Commissioners Proclaims May 25 as Memorial Day, Flags to Fly at Half-Staff May 25

The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners proclaimed May 25, 2026, as Memorial Day during its regular meeting on May 21. The flag of the United States and the Georgia flag at County government facilities will also fly at half-staff on Monday, May 25, until noon in honor and as a mark of respect for the memory of the fallen.

By executive order of Gov. Brian Kemp, the flag of the United States and the Georgia flag at County facilities will fly at half-staff on Friday, May 15, in honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day and as a mark of respect for law enforcement officers who have fallen in the line of duty.
