Department of Water & Sewer Recognized for Excellence In Water And Wastewater Systems Operations
The Forsyth County Department of Water & Sewer was recognized by the Board of Commissioners for winning multiple prestigious awards from the Georgia Association of Water Professionals (GAWP) for its excellent service.
The awards received include:
- Water Reclamation Facility of the Year Award for both the Shakerag Water Reclamation Facility and the Dick Creek Water Reclamation Facility.
- Award for Excellence in Community Engagement: Septic Tank Pump Out Program
- 2023 Platinum Collection System Excellence Award
- 2023 Platinum Distribution System Excellence Award
Founded in 1932, GAWP aims to help utilities be successful in providing safe water for the residents of the state and its members include water utility workers, plant operators, state regulators, engineering consultants and other water professionals.
