Voting Options for June 16 General Primary Runoff

On June 16, a General Primary Runoff will be held. The runoff will be for those races from the May 19 General Primary in which no candidate received a majority of votes cast.

Ballot Choices

A voter’s ballot choice in this Runoff is dependent on their ballot type choice in the May 19 General Primary:

  • Voters who chose a Democratic ballot in the general primary can only vote a Democratic ballot in the primary runoff.
  • Voters who chose a Republican ballot in the general primary can only vote a Republican ballot in the primary runoff.
  • Eligible voters who did not vote in the general primary or who voted a Nonpartisan ballot can choose a Democratic or Republican ballot in the primary runoff.

Eligible voters have three options for casting their ballot in the runoff.

Advance Voting in Person

Advance Voting for the June 16 Runoff will be Monday, June 8, through Friday, June 12, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at four locations throughout the county:

  • Voter Registrations & Elections Office (1201 Sawnee Drive)
  • Hampton Park Library (5345 Settingdown Road)
  • Midway Park Community Building (5100 Post Road)
  • Sharon Springs Park Community Building (1950 Sharon Road)
    • NOTE: While Sharon Springs Park is closed for renovations, the Community Building is open for voting!

Eligible Forsyth County registered voters may vote at any Advance Voting location regardless of their assigned Election Day precinct. There are no Saturday or Sunday voting options for the Runoff.

Reminder: there is no voting the Monday prior to any election. Voters are encouraged to take advantage of the Advance Voting week.

During the week of Advance Voting, a digital map displaying the current estimated wait time for Advance Voting at the four locations can be viewed at www.forsythco.com/vote.

Election Day Voting in Person
On Election Day, Tuesday, June 16, voters go to their designated Election Day polling place to cast their ballot. All Election Day polling places will be open for voting from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Some precinct boundaries and polling places have changed. Visit www.mvp.sos.ga.gov to verify your assigned Election Day polling place.

  • Matt Schooolhouse Community Building (5710 Namon Wallace Road) is a new polling location. If you were assigned to First Baptist Church or Hope Fellowship in 2025, your polling location may have changed to Matt Schoolhouse Community Building. Verify your assigned Election Day polling place at mvp.sos.ga.gov prior to going to the polls.
  • If you were assigned to Sharon Forks Library in 2025, you are now assigned to Sharon Springs Park Community Building (1950 Sharon Road).
  • If you were assigned to the Atlanta Cricket Fields in 2025, you are now assigned to Bennett Park Community Building (6050 Burruss Mill Road).

For all in-person voting, voters must bring one of the six acceptable forms of photo identification. For details, visit the Voter Registrations & Elections Department page of the Forsyth County website at www.forsythco.com/vote or call (770) 781-2118.

Absentee Voting by Mail

Voters unable to vote in person can request an absentee ballot be mailed to them. Forsyth County registered voters can apply for an absentee ballot online, by mail or by emailing a scanned copy of their signed application to the Voter Registrations & Elections Office at absentee@forsythco.com. The last day to submit an absentee ballot application to the Voter Registrations & Elections Office for this election is Friday, June 5. Due to the short processing time for absentee by mail ballots, voted absentee ballots should be returned as soon as they are voted. Voted absentee ballots must be returned in person or by mail to the Voter Registrations & Elections Office no later than 7 p.m. on Election Day to be counted. The postmark date does NOT count.

Voter Registration Deadlines

Registrations received by April 20, 2026, meet the deadline for federal, state and local contests. Registrations for new registrants received between April 21 and May 18, 2026, are eligible to vote for the federal contest only. All other registration applications received after April 20 will not be processed until after the runoff. Registrants are encouraged to visit www.mvp.sos.ga.gov to confirm their voter registration record.
