Public Hearing Regarding Land Disturbance Permit Moratorium

Update: At their meeting June 15, 2017 the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners approved extending the moratorium until September 15, 2017.


The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Thursday, June 15, 2017, to consider a possible extension, until September 15, 2017, of the moratorium originally adopted on December 20, 2016, and most recently extended on March 20, 2017, on the acceptance of land disturbance permit applications for uses identified in Chapter 12 of the Unified Development Code and commercial components within an MPD on property located within Coal Mountain, which for purposes of this advertisement is property wholly or partially in a quadrilateral area bounded by lines connecting corners located at the following intersections: Browns Bridge Road and Six Mile Ridge Road, Hopewell Road and Dahlonega Highway, Matt Highway and Bannister Road, and Keith Bridge Road and Dahlonega Highway (with all properties located at the intersections included in the moratorium area). 

The public hearing will take place at the Board’s regular meeting on June 15, 2017, at 5 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room, Suite 220 of the Forsyth County Administration Building. All Forsyth County residents and any other affected and/or interested persons are invited and encouraged to attend.
