Public Hearing regarding District 4 Land Disturbance Permit Moratorium

 Update: The following item is slated for the Board of Commissioners’ November 2, 2017 Old Business agenda:

 

  • Board consideration of a Resolution (1) amending the August 3, 2017 moratorium prohibiting the acceptance of land disturbance permit (LDP) applications on residential zonings in District 4 that were zoned residential between January 1, 2000 and December 31, 2012, except for agricultural properties, until November 3, 2017, by changing the expiration date of the moratorium to November 17, 2017; or, alternatively, (2) striking the public hearing requirement from paragraph 2(2) of the August 3 moratorium resolution and adopting a fourteen day extension of same; or, alternatively (3) imposing a new, time sensitive, emergency moratorium for the same type of LDP applications from November 2, 2017 until November 17, 2017 – County Attorney

Update: At their meeting August 3, 2017, the Board of Commissioners approved extension of the moratorium until November 3, 2017.


On Thursday, August 3, 2017, at 5 p.m., the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing in order to consider a possible extension, until November 3, 2017, of a moratorium adopted on April 18, 2017, barring the acceptance of Land Disturbance Permits for certain properties zoned residential between 2000 and 2012 in Commission District 4. The public hearing will be held in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room, Suite 220 of the Forsyth County Administration Building.  The purpose of the public hearing shall be for public review and comment concerning the possible extension of the existing moratorium on the acceptance of Land Disturbance Permits for properties in Commission District 4 zoned between January 1, 2000, and December 31, 2012, to a residential zoning designation, except for agricultural properties.  All Forsyth County residents and any other affected and/or interested persons are invited and encouraged to attend.
