Forsyth County Transitions to New Provider for Emergency Medical Services

Forsyth County will be served by a new emergency medical services provider beginning Thursday, January 14. Central Emergency Medical Services, LLC will assume emergency medical services in Forsyth County effective at 9 a.m. on January 14.

“Ensuring that our citizens receive quality public safety and emergency medical services is without question the highest priority for Forsyth County government,” said Commission Chairman R.J. (Pete) Amos. “Our residents are, and will continue to be, protected. Please be assured that there will be absolutely no interruption to emergency medical services in Forsyth County.”

The change in providers comes as a result of the assignment of the existing contract with the county’s current provider – Advanced Ambulance Service, Inc. – to Central EMS. The assignment was approved by the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners at a special called meeting January 13.

There will continue to be seven (7) staffed ambulances located throughout the county, prepared to respond to 911 calls for service.

Advanced Ambulance served as Forsyth County’s contracted ambulance service provider since 2008.
