Forsyth County to Assist with Reopening and Management of Three USACE Parks

Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to reopen Keith Bridge, Long Hollow and Two-Mile Creek parks with Forsyth County assistance

Forsyth County and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) have collaborated to reopen three USACE owned parks on Lake Lanier ahead of the Independence Day weekend. The parks set to reopen after closing in May are:

•           Keith Bridge Park

•           Long Hollow Park

•           Two-Mile Creek Park

“After discussions the past few weeks, we are glad that Forsyth County is able to assist the Corps in reopening these lake parks to the public,” said Assistant County Manager Tony Tarnacki. “Several agencies and elected officials with the County, as well as the state and federal level, were involved in making this happen, so it has been a tremendous example of how various agencies can work together for the betterment of our community.”

The parks are reopening under one-year Challenge Cost Share Cooperative Management Agreement (CCSMA), ensuring continued public access through collaborative management efforts. As part of the agreement, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office will provide Park Ranger assistance at the three parks.
