Following the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ (USACE) announcement that it will waive day-use fees nationwide in observance of Presidents Day and other days of celebration and commemoration, the Forsyth County Department of Parks & Recreation will also waive day-use fees on Monday, Feb. 16, at County-operated parks located on USACE property.

- Mary Alice Park (1820 Mary Alice Park Road)
- Young Deer Creek Park (7300 Heard Road)
- Six Mile Creek Park (6020 Browns Bridge Road)

The waiver applies to standard day-use fees, including boat launch ramps and designated swimming areas. It does not apply to camping, camping-related services, shelter rentals or other specialized facilities.
Forsyth County Parks & Recreation will also offer other fee-free days throughout the year. In 2026, the fee-free days are:

*Note: Mary Alice Park will not participate in the Independence Day Weekend fee waiver (July 3-5). All other listed parks will observe the waiver on those dates.
Visitors are encouraged to confirm park hours and operational status prior to arrival. More information about the USACE fee-free days can be found here. Additional information about Forsyth County Parks & Recreation can be found here.
