Forsyth County Reports Sewer Spill to Georgia EPD

In accordance with Environmental Protection Division regulations, this is notice that on Thursday, April 17, 2025, a sewer spill occurred in an isolated area in the woods in the Parkstone community in northern Forsyth County. 

The spill was contained at 12:20 a.m. on April 18 and occurred when a gasket failed on an Air Release Valve (ARV) sewer force main. It is estimated that approximately 1,000 gallons of sewage spilled into Cogburn Creek.

The ground affected by the spill has been treated, a sign posted in the area and Forsyth County is taking all necessary precautions along with complying with EPD guidelines. The Georgia EPD was notified of the incident just after 10 p.m. on April 17.
