Forsyth County Parks & Recreation Partners with Trout Unlimited for Community Tree Planting Event
Forsyth County Parks & Recreation invites the community to join a hands-on environmental stewardship event in partnership with Trout Unlimited at 9 a.m. on Sunday, May 3, at Chattahoochee Pointe Park (5790 Chattahoochee Pointe Drive).
Volunteers will work together to plant 250 native trees throughout the park. These plantings will play a vital role in improving the local ecosystem by providing shade to cool the creek waters, stabilizing stream banks to reduce erosion, and helping prevent sediment and pollutants from entering the Chattahoochee River.
“This initiative supports long-term water quality and strengthens habitat health, creating benefits for local wildlife and the surrounding community as well,” said Parks & Recreation Director Kirk Franz. “By partnering in projects like this, we are helping preserve natural resources while improving the overall environmental health of the area for future generations.”
Community members of all ages are encouraged to participate. Volunteers are advised to wear appropriate outdoor attire and be prepared for light physical activity.
