First Section of New Lane on SR 400 Southbound Open

Progress on the widening of State Route 400 in Forsyth County continues! The first section of the new SR 400 southbound lane – between SR 141 and McFarland Parkway – is now open to traffic.

Construction will continue widening SR 400 from SR 369/Browns Bridge Road to SR 141/Peachtree Parkway. Weather permitting, that section is expected to open to traffic in late spring 2018. The new northbound lane was completed in September.

The SR 400 widening project – adding a lane in each direction of SR 400 from McFarland Parkway to SR 369 – is being made possible through a partnership between Forsyth County and the Georgia Department of Transportation. GDOT has contributed funding to this work and is managing the project. The remainder of the project funding comes from the Forsyth County Transportation Bond approved by 63% of Forsyth County voters in 2014.
