VIDEO: All Lanes Open to Traffic on SR 369/400 Overpass (Exit 18)

Following the replacement of a damaged support cap in the SR 369 overpass at SR 400 (Exit 18) and subsequent partial bridge beam replacement, four lanes of traffic (two westbound and two eastbound) are now open to traffic across the SR 400 overpass, weeks ahead of schedule.

The latest On The Move series video provides details:

Commuters can still expect various intermittent traffic impacts in the following weeks as crews finish final project items such as striping.

Details on the project, including FAQs, repair timeline, video updates and more can be found at www.forsythco.com/exit-18.

In November 2024, Forsyth County crews and structural engineer consultants identified cracking in the bridge’s Phase I westside support cap, located below the approach ramp on the northwest portion of the bridge, due to a layout error by the project’s subcontractor at initial construction. The Phase I westside cap required a replacement.

The project’s initial subcontractor, Baldwin Paving Co., managed the cap’s replacement and assumes financial responsibility for the required additional work. E.R. Snell crews, as contracted by Baldwin Paving Co., removed a portion of Phase I of the bridge (the recently closed portion of the bridge on the northwest quadrant and northwest ramp), including seven beams over SR 400 southbound, to allow access to the cap for replacement.

The modification and beam replacement (which began work in December 2024) required an estimated twelve months to fully complete and open all four lanes of traffic. During construction, two lanes (one in each direction) remained open on SR 369.

Crews completed the needed work on November 21, 2025 (ahead of the estimated schedule) and opened all four lanes of traffic across the overpass.
