Chief Judge Jeffrey S. Bagley Elected Ninth District Administrative Judge

The Ninth JudicialAdministrative District’s Council of Superior Court Judges has elected ForsythCounty Chief Judge Jeffrey S. Bagley as the District’s new administrative judge.   

 

The Ninth JudicialAdministrative District (JAD) consists of 15 counties divided into sevenjudicial circuits. The counties included Gwinnett, Hall and Cherokee as well 11other counties north of Forsyth. The 29 Superior Court judges and 13 seniorjudges in the JAD make up the District Council of Superior Court Judges. In hisrole of administrative judge, Judge Bagley will be responsible for directingshort- and long-term district plans as well as the oversight of district courtadministration. In addition, Judge Bagley will serve on both the ExecutiveCommittee of the Council of Superior Court Judges and the Judicial Council ofGeorgia.

 

“I am honored to havebeen selected by my peers to serve the Ninth District as administrative judge.As such, I will promote policies to improve the functioning of the judiciary inthe district,” said Judge Bagley.

 

A life-long resident ofCumming, Judge Bagley received his law degree from Emory University School ofLaw and his undergraduate degree from Georgia Institute of Technology. Afterserving three years as judge in the State Court and two years as a JuvenileCourt judge, Judge Bagley was appointed in 2000 to the Superior Court of theBell-Forsyth Judicial Circuit, where he currently serves as chief judge. Forthe past 15 years, he has also served as the presiding judge of the ForsythCounty Drug Court.
