Forsyth County Chief Assistant District Attorney Wins Assistant District Attorney Of The Year Award

Forsyth County Chief Assistant District Attorney Sandra Partridge was recently recognized as Assistant District Attorney of the Year by the District Attorneys’ Association of Georgia (DAAG). The award is given to outstanding prosecutors and investigators who have gone above and beyond in the pursuit of justice.

“It has been the honor of my life to help the victims of crime seek justice, so winning an award for doing what I love was a surprise,” Partridge said. “I appreciate the honor, but more than that, I appreciate that I have been lucky enough to have a career that brings me personal fulfillment and allows me to help those in need.”

In a letter to the DAAG nominating Partridge for this award, Forsyth County District Attorney Penny Penn wrote that Partridge has worked for Forsyth County in the Bell-Forsyth Judicial Circuit for 26 years, first as an Assistant District Attorney in 1999 and then as Chief Assistant in 2003.

“In the past two decades, she has tried before a jury more than 100 felony cases, most of those as lead or sole counsel,” Penn wrote. “I can attest to her consummate work ethic and preparedness, meticulous attention to detail, legal acumen and effective courtroom advocacy. She is a tenacious advocate in her pursuit of justice. She brings these same qualities and determination to every case to which she is assigned.”

In her career with the Bell-Forsyth Judicial Circuit, Partridge has been responsible for the appeals of her cases before the Court of Appeals and Supreme Court. Her cases have also been included in the CaseLaw Update at Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia conferences.

“I am grateful for [Partridge’s] service to this office and to the community,” Penn wrote. “I am grateful for her advice, counsel and most of all, her friendship.”

The Forsyth County District Attorney’s Office seeks justice with fair and ethical prosecution of cases while holding offenders accountable, supporting victims, protecting the community and promoting public safety.
