911 Center Team Members Visit Guardian Call Participants, Strengthening Community Connections
Members of the Forsyth County 911 Center recently took time to visit several participants in the Guardian Call program, a wellness check initiative designed to support residents who benefit from regular check-in calls.
Members of the 911 Center visited six participants in person, bringing small goodie bags, and more importantly, the opportunity to connect face to face. These visits allowed participants to meet the voices they’ve come to recognize through their phone calls – often a consistent point of contact, reassurance and conversation.
Several Guardian Call participants shared their appreciation for the program, describing it as a reliable and comforting service.
“It keeps [participants] on their toes, anticipating that somebody cares about you and that they’re calling you to make sure you’re okay. That’s a blessing,” one participant said.
The Guardian Call program reflects the County’s ongoing commitment to high-quality, proactive service. While the 911 Center is often associated with emergency response, programs like these demonstrate the 911 Center’s broader role in community engagement and public wellness – one call at a time.
