The Policy Division oversees the following:

• Updates to the Comprehensive Plan which guides the long-term growth and development of the county.
  

• Amendments to the Unified Development Code (UDC) which regulates land use and development standards.
  

• Administration of the Metropolitan River Protection Act (MRPA) which protects the natural resources and scenic qualities within the Chattahoochee River corridor.

• Coordination and issuance of film permits for productions within the county limits.
  

• Management of special projects that support the county's strategic goals and objectives.
