Mobile CARE Unit

Keeping Pets and People Together

The Companion Animal Resource and Education (CARE) Program is a community-centric approach to animal welfare in Forsyth County. We provide a unified support system rich in education, service, support and connection to create pathways for pets and people in our community.

Veterinary Services

The CARE Unit is designed to provide basic veterinary services to Pet Resource Center animals and aid in lifesaving programs for the animals of Forsyth County.  The CARE Unit is equipped with two surgery tables, a digital X-ray machine and dental equipment.

Our Community Cat Initiatives include a TNVR program (trap, neuter, vaccinate, return) program. TNVR programs are the only humane and effective approach to community cat management. The CARE unit will be able to target areas with a high concentration of community cats and provide TNVR service, stopping the breeding cycle, which in turn controls the populations of community cats born in Forsyth County.
