The 2026 Greatest American Cleanup Registration Open Now

Residents invited to help clean up their community, register for event happening on March 21

Keep Forsyth County Beautiful (KFCB) welcomes everyone to take part in the Greatest American Cleanup by helping remove litter from the community’s roadways between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 21 at the Forsyth County Voter Registrations & Elections office (1201 Sawnee Drive).

The effort is a part of the Keep America Beautiful initiative, which has a nationwide goal of picking up 25 billion pieces of litter across the United States by July 2026 to celebrate the country’s 250th anniversary this year.

“25 billion pieces of litter picked up by July 4, 2026, is a monumental goal to honor our nation’s milestone birthday,” said Forsyth County Environmental Programs Manager Tammy Keaton. “We’re excited to be part of this Keep America Beautiful initiative, while also making a positive impact on our local community. And we’re always grateful for the hard work our residents put in to help our county shine.”

Participants, as an organized team of volunteers or as individuals, will pick up their supplies and a free T-shirt (while supplies last) at the Voter Registrations & Elections office and depart to clean up their assigned road. Volunteers may return to the Voter Registrations & Elections office with their bags for a free lunch or drop their bags at any of the three County Recycling Centers (Tolbert Street, Old Atlanta, Coal Mountain).

Pre-registration for this event is required. Volunteers can sign up for the Greatest American Cleanup here.

Volunteers must provide their own transportation to their assigned roads and sign a waiver before participation.
