Portion of Big Creek Greenway Temporarily Closed Due to Storm Damage

Update (3/24/17): The Fowler Park Trailhead entrance has been reopened.

Closures between mile 6.1 and 6.2, and Fowler Park Trailhead entrance

Due to a recent storm, two small portions of Forsyth County’s Big Creek Greenway are temporarily closed.

The Fowler Park Trailhead entrance to the Greenway is temporarily closed due to storm damage. This closure does not impact the Big Creek Greenway itself, and this entrance is expected to reopen by Saturday, March 25.

The more heavily damaged section is the boardwalk between mile 6.1 and 6.2, located south of the Bethelview Road Trailhead and just north of Atlanta Highway. The Bethelview Road Trailhead will remain open to the public, and users may travel north toward Kelly Mill Road. A reopen date has not yet been determined.

Forsyth County Parks & Recreation is working to repair the damage as quickly as possible. For up-to-date information, contact Parks & Recreation directly at (770) 781-2215 or visit www.forsythco.com/parks
