Online Community Input Opportunity Offered For Forsyth County Comprehensive Plan Update

As a part of Foster Forsyth 2022, the process of updating the Forsyth County Comprehensive Plan, an online input opportunity is now available for the community. A survey, mapping activity and questionnaire, along with materials presented during recent public meetings, may be found by clicking here. The online input period will be available through 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 7.

The Forsyth County Comprehensive Plan is a document that serves as a policy guide for decisions made in relation to growth and land use change. The plan addresses critical issues and opportunities through the incorporation of a shared vision for the community's future. Foster Forsyth 2022 is a 12-month planning effort that will culminate in a partial update to the County’s Comprehensive Plan, which will include three rounds of community input via in-person and online activities.

“In order to provide an update to the plan that will help guide important decisions on future development to ensure compatibility with existing uses, infrastructure and economic trends while protecting natural and cultural resources, we need the community’s input,” said Planning & Community Development Deputy Director Vanessa Bernstein-Goldman. “Over the course of 2022, we hope that the public will participate since the plan provides a framework for County decisions that impact land use decisions and community priorities for the County over a twenty-year planning horizon.”

The online input period is being hosted in conjunction with Foster Forsyth 2022’s first round of public engagement meetings that included two in-person meetings and one virtual session. Materials presented during these three public input meetings, may be found by clicking here. The second round of public input meetings will be held between 6-8 p.m. on the following dates:

Feb. 23 – Fowler Park Community Room (4110 Carolene Way)

March 1 – Central Park Banquet Room (2300 Keith Bridge Road)

March 2 – Zoom Video Conference
