Appointments for January Are Full: Forsyth County to Begin Administering COVID-19 Vaccines

All appointments for the month of January 2021 are full.

We are working with Public Health to ensure vaccine availability. Once this is confirmed, additional appointments will be made available.

Information on additional appointments will be shared on the County’s website and social media channels.

Forsyth County, in partnership with Northside Hospital Forsyth and other community partners, will begin administering COVID-19 vaccines to residents, by appointment only, that are eligible for the vaccine according to the Georgia Department of Public Health’s vaccine distribution plan.

Currently, residents that qualify for Group 1A+ (healthcare workers, long-term care facility staff/residents, adults 65+ and caregivers, and law enforcement personnel) are eligible to make an appointment for the following locations/dates and times:

- Tuesday, Jan. 19 and 26, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
o First Redeemer Church (2100 Peachtree Pkwy.)

- Wednesday, Jan. 20 and 27, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
o Browns Bridge Church (3860 Browns Bridge Road)

The County anticipates having 600 vaccination appointments available each day, based on the current supply. (Please note all appointments are currently full)

“Our Forsyth County Board of Commissioners recognized the need to make more appointments available so residents could sign up to receive the COVID-19 vaccines,” said County Manager Kevin Tanner.

“Our Emergency Management Director Chris Grimes pulled together resources from the County’s Information Systems & Technologies, Fire Department and Sheriff’s Office, as well our partners at Northside Hospital and Public Health, to make these appointments available. We also greatly appreciate the two organizations from our faith community who are allowing us to use their facilities.”

The County’s vaccine distribution is intended to supplement that of Public Health. Vaccines will continue to be provided by private physicians, pharmacies and Public Health, as available.

Information regarding the Georgia Department of Public Health’s vaccine distribution phase plan, including the criteria for each phase group, can be found by clicking here, or by visiting the Georgia Department of Public Health’s website, dph.georgia.gov.
