Fire Department's Annual Toy Collection Underway

Last year’s toy collection served 1,800 local children

The Forsyth County Fire Department is asking for citizens’ help in making the holiday season special for local children in need through the department’s fourteenth annual Aerial’s House toy collection.

“Last year we were delighted to have collected enough toys, gift cards and monetary donations to provide for 1,800 Forsyth County children. This year, with the help of our generous community, we hope to surpass that,” Fire Chief Danny Bowman said. “The Fire Department personnel who assist with the toy collection each year are undoubtedly grateful to witness the many individuals, children and families as they drop off gifts at our stations.”

New, unwrapped toys for children – newborn to 18 years old – may be dropped off now through Thursday, December 15, at any Forsyth County fire station, Fire Department Headquarters located at 3520 Settingdown Road, or any of the county’s four library branches.

Beginning in December and continuing through December 15, toys for Aerial’s House may also be dropped off under the Christmas tree in the lobby of the Forsyth County Administration Building, located at 110 East Main Street in downtown Cumming.

To receive information regarding the distribution of toys collected through Aerial’s House, call The Place of Forsyth County at (770) 887-1098. For any other questions or to make a large donation, please call Firefighter Jeff Lyons at (678) 513-5899.
