VIDEO: Volunteers Sought for Annual Waterway Cleanup Event


Eventwill be held Sept. 14

 

Residents can make apositive impact on local waterways by joining Keep Forsyth County Beautiful(KFCB), the city of Cumming and the Lake Lanier Association for the 31st annualShore Sweep/Rivers Alive litter cleanup event. The cleanup is part of the LakeLanier Association’s 2019 Lake Lanier Shore Sweep event and will take place Saturday,Sept. 14, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.

 

Families, co-workers,organizations, scout troops and individuals are encouraged to volunteer for theannual waterway cleanup event on Lake Lanier and its tributaries.


KFCB will be providingleadership at the Bald Ridge Marina and Port Royale Marina sites in ForsythCounty. Forsyth County volunteers are encouraged to register for the event bycalling KFCB at (770) 205-4573 or by visiting keepforsythcountybeautiful.org andclicking on the calendar page. The registration deadline is 5 p.m. on Friday,Sept. 13.

 

Volunteers will meet atBald Ridge Marina (1850 Bald Ridge Marina Rd.) or at Port Royale (8800 PortRoyale Dr.) on Sept. 14 to gather supplies, pick up a t-shirt and receive instructions.

 

Volunteers with boats ofall types are needed. If you have a boat and are willing to assist with thecleanup of sites with no land access, please contactKFCB.
