Public Hearing Planned for Proposed County-Initiated Rezoning of Multiple Parcels
The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Thursday, Nov. 20, at 5 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room of the Forsyth County Administration Building regarding a proposed County-initiated rezoning of multiple parcels from the R2R zoning district to the Res2 zoning district, multiple parcels from the R1R zoning district to the Res1 zoning district, and multiple parcels from the R1 zoning district to the Res1 zoning district.
As stated in the resolution signed by the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners on Sept. 18, 2025, “the Board believes that undeveloped and underdeveloped properties zoned to those districts should be converted to residential zoning districts that are equivalent districts, but that are otherwise continually updated and better reflect the land use vision of the Board. The Board also believes that undeveloped and underdeveloped R2R properties should be rezoned to the Res2 district, while undeveloped and underdeveloped R1R and R1 properties should be rezoned to the Res1 district.”
