Open House Meeting Set for Operational Expansions at Fowler Water Reclamation Facility

Public meeting for Fowler Water Reclamation Facility set for Sept. 23

 

The Forsyth County Water & Sewer Departmentwill host an open house meeting from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 23, toprovide information and gather public feedback on plans to expand the permitteddischarge of highly treated wastewater from the Fowler WRF (4050 Carolene Way)to Big Creek from a rested discharge rate of 2.5 mgd seasonally to 5 mgdyear-round.

 

Residents are invited to review theproposed permit application from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sept. 23, at the Forsyth CountyAdministration Building (110 E. Main St.). Water & Sewer Department staffwill be available to answer questions.

 

“This project will allow us to increasecapacity within our existing facility footprints to support the growth of theCounty,” said Water & Sewer Department Director Tim Perkins. “The purposeof the meeting is to inform the public on the improvements we are making to theCounty’s water reclamation operations.”

 

The meeting will require protective facemasks to be worn by all staff and is encouraged for participants. Socialdistancing will be maintained during the meeting. Several mounted boardsdetailing the project will be on display during the meeting. The same materialspresented are available through the Water & Sewer Department webpage and byclickinghere.  

 

Participants at the meeting will beasked to sign in upon arrival and will be given a form to submit questionsregarding the project for staff review.
