Forsyth County Proposes Precinct and Polling Place Changes

The Forsyth County Board of Voter Registrations & Elections (BRE) is proposing precinct and polling place changes to better serve the voters of Forsyth County. If approved, the proposal will result in changes to two current polling places and the addition of a new precinct and polling place starting with the 2026 election cycle.

“We are excited to announce these proposed changes to accommodate two newly opening County facilities and make a needed change to a third polling place,” said Director of Voter Registrations & Elections Mandi Smith. “We strive for changes that have the least impact on voters and, in some instances, result in some voters being closer to their assigned Election Day polling place.”

The proposed changes would bring the number of Election Day precincts and polling places in Forsyth County to a total of 30. A summary of the adjustments, which would impact approximately 11,200 of Forsyth County’s more than 182,000 registered voters, is as follows:

  • Matt (53): The creation of this proposed new Election Day precinct will result in a portion of voters who are currently assigned to vote in the Matt (51) precinct and a portion of voters who are currently assigned to vote in the Otwell (16) precinct being reassigned to the proposed Matt (53) precinct. The polling place for the proposed new Matt (53) precinct will be the Matt Schoolhouse Community Building, located at 5710 Namon Wallace Road, Cumming, 30028.
  • Hightower (52): The current Matt (51) precinct is being renamed to Hightower (52) precinct. The Election Day polling place remains at Hope Fellowship, located at 6230 Matt Highway, Cumming, 30028.
  • Chestatee (04): This proposal would change the Election Day polling place for the Chestatee (04) precinct from the Atlanta Cricket Fields to Bennett Park Community Building, located at 6050 Burruss Mill Road, Cumming, 30041.
  • South Forsyth (21): This proposal would move the Election Day polling place for the South Forsyth (21) precinct from Sharon Forks Library to Sharon Springs Park Community Building, located at 1950 Sharon Road, Cumming, 30041.

If the proposed changes are approved, registered voters impacted by the changes will receive an updated precinct card via U.S. mail.

The BRE is scheduled to consider the proposed polling place changes at a special called meeting at 9 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 23, 2026, at the Forsyth County Voter Registrations & Elections Office (1201 Sawnee Drive). The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners is scheduled to consider the precinct boundary line changes to add a new precinct during their regular meeting on Thursday, March 5, 2026.
