Forsyth County District 4 Commissioner and Vice Chairman Cindy Jones Mills Reappointed to Serve on ACCG’s Board of Managers

Forsyth County District 4 Commissioner and Vice Chairman CindyJones Mills was recently reappointed and sworn in to serve on the 2019-2020Association County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG) Board of Managers as an at-largerepresentative. Mills was sworn in by Governor Brian Kemp with other Boardmembers during a special luncheon that took place during the 2019 ACCG AnnualConference at the Savannah Convention Center in Chatham County.

“On behalf of the association staff and ourmembership, I would like to congratulate the newly installed ACCG Board ofManagers,” said Executive Director Dave Wills. “Each spring, ACCG welcomes itsnew leaders, and we remain fortunate to be led by a group of true publicservants who possess a sincere appreciation for improving Georgia’s localcommunities. We look forward to serving the citizens of Georgia under thedirection of our new Board.”

CommissionerMills was first elected to serve as the Forsyth County District 4 commissionerin 2012 and was re-elected in 2016 for the 2017-2020 term. She serves as thechair of the Social Services Committee, as chair of the TransportationCommittee, and as a member of the Finance Committee. In 2013, Mills graduatedfrom the Georgia Academy for Economic Development and in 2014 completed theCommissioners Training Program through ACCG. Commissioner Mills was recognizedin 2015 for her active membership on the ACCG Policy Council and was named thegroup’s 2015 Legislative Advocate of the Year. For the past five years, she haschaired ACCG’s general county government policy committee on the legislativepolicy council. She was first appointed to the ACCG Board of Managers in 2017.

 

“Itis an honor to serve on the ACCG Board of Managers,” said Mills. “The knowledgeI have received from serving with commissioners from across the state hasproven to be a valuable asset for our citizens and our employees as well. I amgrateful that they have asked me to continue to serve in this capacity again.”
