Forsyth County Declares Local State of Emergency Following Tropical Storm Zeta

Forsyth County Board of Commissioners Chairman LauraSemanson signed a declaration of a local state of emergency Thursday, Oct. 29.To view the declaration, click here.

“The high winds and heavyrain from Tropical Storm Zeta during the early morning hours today have downedtrees, created power outages, and impacted property and roadways in ourcommunity,” said Semanson. “This declaration allows the County to activate ourEmergency Operations Plan (EOP), providing for the protection of the health,safety and welfare of the residents of Forsyth County.”

Theactivation of the EOP, which is managed by the Emergency Management Director,allows the County to take specific, timely actions to facilitate storm cleanupand mitigation.
