Forsyth County Animal Shelter Offers Cat and Kitten Adoption Special

Promotion available through October 31

The Forsyth County Animal Shelter has more than 150 cats and kittens who are in search of their forever home. And since most cats love companionship, the shelter is offering a special promotion to encourage potential adopters to consider adopting two.

Now through October 31, the Forsyth County Animal Shelter is offering a cat adoption special – adopt two cats or kittens for one adoption fee of $85.

“Our regular adoption fee is $85 per animal, but right now you can adopt two cats or kittens for that fee,” said Animal Shelter Manager Cindy Iacopella. “Most cats do really well in pairs. They are often great playmates and help to keep one another entertained, which can be an especially important consideration for adopters who are at work during the day.”

Many of the adult cats available for adoption at the shelter have been in the shelter’s care for six months or longer, and the shelter staff members are eager to find them permanent homes.

“This is one of the times of year when the feline population increases, so we want to do our best to find loving homes for them all,” said Iacopella.

In addition to this adoption special, funding received through a grant from Maddie’s Fund, a foundation working to ensure every dog and cat is guaranteed a healthy home or habitat, is enabling the shelter to offer a unique promotion to the first 20 adopters taking advantage of this special.

“We will waive the adoption fees all together for the first 20 people who come to the shelter and adopt two cats or kittens at the same time,” said Iacopella. “Those first 20 people will be able to adopt two of our wonderful cats or kittens absolutely free. We were so fortunate to have received a grant from Maddie’s Fund that is making this possible.”

In addition to seeking homes for all of the animals in their care, the Forsyth County Animal Shelter is always looking for volunteers, those willing to foster animals and donations of items such as pet food, toys and bedding.

The Forsyth County Animal Shelter, located just off of GA 400 at 4065 County Way in northern Forsyth County, provides animal adoptions Tuesday through Saturday, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call (678) 965-7185 or visit www.forsythco.com/animalshelter.
