Fire Department Promotes 13 Personnel at Recognition Ceremony

In a ceremony held Saturday, Dec. 2, the Forsyth County Fire Department presented various awards and promoted 13 personnel during the department’s recognition ceremony for the 2023 year. Family, friends and Fire Department staff attended the ceremony held at Local Church Forsyth. Photos from the event can be found on the Fire Department Facebook page and by clicking here.

Awards were presented to personnel in the first portion of the ceremony. The department presented Life-Saved Awards to department personnel in recognition of their outstanding actions when a life-threatening situation occurred as well as Unit Citation Awards.

In the promotional portion of the event, 13 members of the department were formally promoted to their new positions of lieutenant or fire apparatus operator. Below are the names of all that received promotions along with their new title.

  • Fire Apparatus Operator Jeremy Knight
  • Fire Apparatus Operator Kenny Robinson
  • Fire Apparatus Operator Matthew Satterfield
  • Fire Apparatus Operator Rusty Shea
  • Fire Apparatus Operator Alex Strickland

“It means a lot to the department to have so many men and women dedicated to serving their community at the highest level,” said Fire Chief Barry Head. “Rewarding that dedication is a highlight of the year we continually look forward to.”
