Fifth Student Government Academy Class Recognized by Board of Commissioners
Local high school students participating in Forsyth County’s fifth annual Student Government Academy were recognized at the Dec. 4 Board of Commissioners meeting.
Students from the Student Government Academy also addressed the Board of Commissioners during the public comment portion of the Dec. 4 meeting. By participating in this process, these students demonstrated an understanding of their rights as citizens and engaged meaningfully in local government. Their involvement reflects a commitment to civic responsibility and an encouraging interest in public service.
The Student Government Academy is a dynamic civics program for Forsyth County high school students that gives students the opportunity to engage with their local government and gain a deeper understanding of how it operates.
Each Forsyth County high school nominates students to participate in the program. Interested students attending Forsyth County Schools are advised to express their interest in being nominated for the program to their high school principal.
