Chairman Alfred John Delivers 2026 State of the County Address
Forsyth County Board of Commissioners Chairman and District 2 Commissioner Alfred John delivered the 2026 State of the County address on Wednesday, Feb. 11. Photos from the event can be found here. A recording of the event is available on YouTube.
“You don’t have to look very far to find large-scale projects and initiatives across the county to point to Forsyth County’s success,” said Chairman Alfred John. “Investments in major road improvements, new Parks & Recreation facilities, and announcements from international industry leaders moving their operations and headquarters here all point to Forsyth County being a major influencer on the metro-Atlanta region as well as the state.”
This year’s State of the County event also featured panel discussions with County officials and community leaders, providing a look at the strategic decisions moving our community forward. Panelists included:
- Forsyth County Fire Department Chief Barry Head
- Forsyth County Sheriff Ron Freeman
- Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Joe Perkins
- Forsyth County Board of Education Chairman Mike Valdes
- Forsyth County Schools Superintendent Dr. Mitch Young
The annual event, hosted in partnership with the Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce, is an opportunity for residents and community-minded business leaders to get updated on the County’s accomplishments, vision for the future and the priorities and plans that guide the County’s decisions.
