Callahan Joins Forsyth County as Director of Public Facilities
Mr. Dan Callahan has joined Forsyth County government as the director of Public Facilities. In this role, Callahan will oversee the operation of all public owned facilities. He will also oversee management and completion of capital improvement projects. 

Callahan brings to the position more than 20 years of experience managing facilities and support service operations in a variety of industries. Most recently he worked for Alcon/Novartis in Johns Creek as head of Real Estate and Facilities Services for the Southeast. Callahan previously served as the director of Building Services at DeKalb Regional Healthcare System. 

“Dan brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership experience to an important role within Forsyth County,” said Forsyth County Manager Eric Johnson. “We look forward to working with Dan on several key projects that will continue to bring Forsyth County’s growing facilities into the future.”

Callahan holds a bachelor’s degree from Troy State University, and an MBA from Georgia State University. He has obtained certification as a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager from the American Hospital Association, and designation as a Facility Management Administrator from the Building Owners and Management Association.  

He is a member of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering, the International Facilities Management Association, and the National Fire Protection Association. During his time at Novartis he also served on the Board of Directors for the Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce.
