Be A ‘Holiday Angel’ For A Local Elder This Holiday Season

Senior Services offers two ways to brighten a resident’s holiday season

Forsyth County Senior Services invites residents to participate in the 2022 Holiday Gift Angels and Home-Delivered Meals Holiday Gift Certificate Programs throughout the holiday season.

Holiday Gift Angels Program: Starting Nov. 14, personalized gift request tags containing the name of an older adult resident as well as a gift idea are available for participants. To become a holiday gift angel:

  1. Pick up a gift request tag for a local older adult at the Charles Places or Sexton Hall locations. Participants can also request a gift tag by contacting Senior Services at (770) 781-2178 or by emailing seniorservices@forsythco.com.
  1. Acquire a gift. Each gift request tag lists the name of a local older adult along with a gift idea for him/her.
  2. Bring the unwrapped gift in a gift bag with the gift request tag attached to Charles Place or Sexton Hall during business hours by Dec. 1.

Home-Delivered Meals Holiday Gift Certificate Program: Participants can give the gift of a nutritious meal, friendly visit and safety check to a local homebound older adult. Meals purchased with a holiday gift certificate through Forsyth County Senior Services will be delivered through the Meals on Wheels program.

Those interested in purchasing a holiday gift certificate may choose to provide meals for a day, week, month or year. The cost for a meal certificate is $5 for one day, $25 for one week, $100 for one month and $1,200 for an entire year. Other donation amounts are also accepted and will be put towards this program.

Checks should be made payable to Forsyth County Senior Services (FCSS) Holiday Meal Certificate Program and may be mailed or delivered to:

Forsyth County Senior Services

Attn: Holiday Meal Certificate Program

2115 Chloe Road

All meals delivered from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day will include a special certificate from the meal provider with a holiday message for the recipient.
