Adoption Fees Waived at the Animal Shelter During Home for the Holidays Promotion

To help make holiday wishes come true for families and pets, the Forsyth County Animal Shelter is waiving its standard $85 pet adoption fee. The Home for the Holidays promotion begins Saturday, Nov.18, and will be available for pet adoptions through Jan. 3, 2024.

“Home for the Holidays is a great time of year for families to give our wonderful animals a forever home,” said Animal Shelter Manager Cindy Iacopella. “No matter what holiday you are celebrating, it can always be brightened by a furry friend at your side. Each of the pets at the Animal Shelter deserves a family to go home with, and we truly enjoy seeing the smiles they put on adopting families’ faces.”

All adoptions include microchipping for pets, altering and age-appropriate vaccinations.

The Forsyth County Animal Shelter, which will be rebranded the Pet Resource Center beginning Nov. 18, is located just off SR 400 in north Forsyth County and provides animal adoptions from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.

In addition to kicking off the Home for the Holidays promotion, the shelter will be hosting a family fun event from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18, where residents can see adoptable pets, enjoy free family-friendly activities and bring their pets for Rabies vaccinations and microchipping at the new CARE Mobile Unit. In addition to seeking homes for all the animals in their care, the Forsyth County Animal Shelter is always looking for volunteers, those willing to foster animals and donations of items such as pet food, toys and bedding.
