During their July 22 meeting, the Board of Commissioners recognized Chief Magistrate Judge Walker Bramblett for his retirement from the magistrate court after 17 years on the bench.

Chief Magistrate Judge Bramblett was elected chief magistrate judge of Forsyth County Magistrate Court in 2008, and he became the first elected attorney to hold the position. He was then reelected in 2012, 2016 and 2020.

Before being appointed magistrate in 2004, he was an attorney with a private practice for 17 years and was a Staff Attorney for Forsyth County.

Chief Magistrate Judge Bramblett’s last day on the bench is July 31.

Forsyth County thanks Chief Magistrate Judge Bramblett for his service that is marked with distinction and honor.
