Georgia Forestry Commission Restricts Outdoor Burning in Forsyth County Due to Drought Conditions
While the summer ban on outdoor burning enacted each year by the Georgia Environmental Protection Division has ended, the Georgia Forestry Commission (GFC) has announced that, due to drought conditions, outdoor burning permits will not be issued in Forsyth County for the foreseeable future. The restriction on outdoor burning applies to all of the counties in the GFC’s Coosa South District, of which Forsyth County is a part. Future Olympians Track Competition to be Held on October 23
Forsyth County Parks & Recreation will host the 2016 Future Olympians Track Competition on Sunday, October 23. New 8-Mile Section of SR 400 Now Open for Motorists
October 5, 2016: Less than one year since the groundbreaking for the project to widen State Route 400 in Forsyth County, the first portion of the project – an 8-mile section northbound from McFarland Parkway to just north of Highway 20 – opened today for motorists.   The project is being made possible through a partnership between Forsyth County and the Georgia Department of Transportation. County Water Safe for All Uses
The Forsyth County Water & Sewer Department has received reports of discolored water. The county wants to assure residents that all tests show their water is safe, despite some discoloration due to increased mineral content. The Water & Sewer Department is conducting continual testing to assess the water quality.
