It is the mission of the Forsyth County Water and Sewer Department Maintenance Division to provide professional, top quality maintenance and repair of the Forsyth County water and wastewater infrastructure and ensure maximum performance of both systems.    


The Maintenance Division has over 70 employees that provide 24/7 coverage in the repair and maintenance of the county's water and sewer systems.  There are eight on-site crews dedicated to Water Distribution.  These crews are present during days, evenings, nights, and weekends to address any issues that may arise in the distribution of potable water to customers.  
 
An additional eight crews are dedicated to Wastewater Collection and perform numerous duties including right of way/sewer easement clearing, CCTV inspection, general maintenance, jetting, and inspections of the sewer lines.  There is also a separate crew that specifically oversees the lift stations, booster pumps, and water tank maintenance.

The division maintains over 1100 miles of water mains ranging in size from 2 inches up to 42 inches, approximately 600 miles of gravity sewer line, 110 miles of sewer force main, 47 sewer lift stations, 5 water booster pump stations, and 8 water storage tanks.
