Recycling & Solid Waste Environmental Compliance

The Recycling & Solid Waste Department ensures that solid waste handling facilities, landfills and other similar facilities within the county comply with pertinent environmental rules and regulations that the county has the authority to enforce.

The landfills in Forsyth County that are monitored include Eagle Point Landfill, Greenleaf Landfill and Hightower Landfill (closed).  For information on these facilities and the materials they accept, click here.

For the Eagle Point Landfill, the Department utilizes a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Advanced Disposal Services, Inc.  Click here to view a copy of the MOU.
