Good afternoon everyone!
Each year the county Chairperson has the task of making the State of the County their own event. This year I really wanted the event to be a time capsule, capturing the good and realistic overview that occurred in Forsyth County in 2020 - the year of COVID, facing the pandemic.
The introduction to the State of the County was a snapshot of different community members coming to the microphone giving an account, one by one, of the pandemic. It began, “I will never forget the day….” Technical issues failed to capture the speaker’s words, but each carried such an important time that needed to be remembered – see each speaker's heartfelt words here.
The video, which you can view here, captures wonderful moments of love and compassion when our community members, employees, businesses, and non-profits locked arms and worked together to find solutions and survive. It makes you proud to live in such a great county among such caring individuals. The state of our county is in fine shape, thanks to the good folks who live here!
