Happy New Year!! So hard for me to believe that we are actually in the year of 2020. I’m excited to see so much that I have been working on for so many years finally come to fruition in this year. A few of those things are: the beginning of the 369 widening and interchange along with the Coal Mountain Connector Parkway, the opening of the Coal Mountain Dog park, the zoning of an industrial park at 400 and Bottoms Road, the planning and design for a new wastewater treatment plant in Northeast Forsyth and many exciting park improvements. For the past 2 years we have been working on the plans for a town center at Coal Mountain. Although the 150 acres located at the corner of 369 and 9 was zoned in 2004-2005, we are trying to create a true mixed use for this site that complies with the future land use map in our comprehensive plan. Attempting to be proactive in planning and in visioning is not an easy task especially when properties are already zoned or entitled. I believe it is worth all the efforts in order to make Coal Mountain be all that it can be. We will have community input meetings and public hearings once a plan is complete, likely by the summer.

As you can see, we have so much going on in District 4. Please see the latest District 4 Zoning Newsletter with Community Updates.
