VIDEO: Learn About Upgrades Coming to the Fowler Water Reclamation Facility

As Forsyth County grows, so does the need for more efficient water treatment processes. Watch the latest edition of On the Move to learn about the expansion underway at the Fowler Water Reclamation Facility, which will soon be capable of processing 7.5 million gallons of wastewater per day. Senior Project Manager Mike Grinberg and Plant Manager John Marshall discuss the forthcoming upgrades and the importance of proper wastewater treatment.

The largest of five Forsyth County Water & Sewer Department Water Reclamation Facilities, the Fowler WRF is currently able to process up to five million gallons per day (MGD) to remove contaminants from household and commercial wastewater and safely discharge it back into the environment.

The plant was recently recognized by the Georgia Association of Water Professionals as the 2023 Water Reclamation Facility of the Year in the category of Advanced Treatment 3 MGD – 5.9 MGD.

Ever wonder where all the water goes after you flush the toilet, wash clothes or brush your teeth? Take a tour of one of Forsyth County’s Wastewater Treatment Plants and see the fascinating series of biological, physical and chemical processes used in cleaning this wastewater and returning it back to the environment. This educational tour lasts approximately one hour and is available free of charge for group sizes of up to 15. Larger groups may be accommodated by request.
