Public Hearing for Proposed Amendment to the Animal Control Ordinance #11; Municipal Code Chapter 14

UPDATE:  The Board of Commissioners held the first public hearing for consideration of the proposed amendment at their July 21, 2022 Regular Meeting where no action was taken.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

 Notice is hereby given that on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 5:00 p.m., the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing to consider an amendment to the Forsyth County Animal Control Ordinance, otherwise known as Forsyth County Ordinance Number 11 or Chapter 14 of the Forsyth County Code of Ordinances. The public hearing will be held in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room, Suite 220 of the Forsyth County Administration Building at 110 East Main Street, Cumming, Georgia 30040.  The purpose of the public hearing shall be for public review and comment concerning proposed modifications to ensure that pet stores allowing rescue organizations or animal control facilities to conduct adoptions in their facilities do not have an ownership interest or otherwise receive compensation for such activity. A copy of the proposed amendment is on file with the clerk in the Forsyth County Administration Building at 110 East Main Street, Cumming, Georgia 30040 and will be made available upon request.  All Forsyth County residents and any other affected and/or interested persons are invited and encouraged to attend.

August Notice of Public Hearing Regarding Partial Update to Comprehensive Plan

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS 

Notice is hereby given that the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing regarding a partial update to the Comprehensive Plan at the Board’s meeting on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. in the Forsyth County Administration Building, 110 East Main Street, Commissioners Meeting Room 220, Second Floor, Cumming, Georgia. The purpose of the public hearing shall be to present a draft of an updated Comprehensive Plan based on public feedback gathered in 2021-2022. All residents and any other affected and/or interested persons are invited and encouraged to attend. 

The Comprehensive Plan draft may be viewed online or by visiting the Department of Planning & Community Development, 110 East Main Street, First Floor, Forsyth County Administration Building, Cumming, Georgia, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Notice of Potential Adoption of Comprehensive Plan Partial Update

NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

A partial update to the Forsyth County Comprehensive Plan shall be presented and considered for adoption at the Board of Commissioner’s meeting on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. in the Forsyth County Administration Building, 110 East Main Street, Commissioners Meeting Room 220, Second Floor, Cumming, Georgia.  

The Comprehensive Plan draft may be viewed online or by visiting the Department of Planning & Community Development, 110 East Main Street, First Floor, Forsyth County Administration Building, Cumming, Georgia, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Public Hearing for Conservation Subdivision Moratorium

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING CONSERVATION SUBDIVISION MORATORIUM

Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing to consider the possible extension and/or adoption of a one-hundred eighty (180) day moratorium on the acceptance of rezoning applications seeking to rezone property to a “conservation subdivision” zoning designation or zoning condition amendment applications seeking to amend conditions on an existing “conservation subdivision.” This moratorium, if approved and/or extended, will continue for one-hundred eighty (180) days while modifications to Chapter 19 of the County’s Unified Development Code related to conservation subdivisions are prepared, reviewed and adopted. The public hearing will be held in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room, Suite 220 of the Forsyth County Administration Building at 110 East Main Street, Cumming, Georgia 30040.  All Forsyth County residents and any other affected and/or interested persons are invited and encouraged to attend.
