Recycling & Solid Waste

County Recycling and Convenience Centers are open regular hours.  However, there are some operational changes effective March 21, 2020:  Until further notice, we are temporarily unable to accept batteries, paint, electronics or tires.

Most trash haulers have stopped accepting yard waste and bulky items. For a list of where to take these items, please see our Frequently Asked Questions page.

The mission of the Forsyth County Recycling and Solid Waste Department is to manage the county’s solid waste in an environmentally sound, cost-effective, socially responsible and safe manner, in accordance with the vision of the Forsyth County Comprehensive Solid Waste Plan.

Forsyth County Recycling and Solid Waste Department operates three public convenience centers for recycling and disposal of bagged household trash. We operate Monday through Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed on Sundays and county holidays.

The centers accept cash only.
