Forsyth County Response to COVID-19

The July 7, 6:30 p.m. Forsyth County Zoning Board of Appeals Work Session and 7:00 p.m. Regular Meeting/ Public Hearing shall be both in person and via teleconference pursuant to O.C.G.A. 50-14-1(g). The public may physically attend these meetings. However due to COVID 19 concerns, remote viewing and participation is encouraged. Viewers may watch the Regular Meeting/Public Hearing on the County’s website: forsythco.com, as well as TV Forsyth, Comcast channel 23 and AT&T channel 99.  Both the Work Session and Regular Meeting/Public Hearing may be viewed on the Zoom app. Click here to access the Zoom link for remote watching. Waste Haulers

Forsyth County government does not provide curbside trash pickup. The county does operate three drop-off convenience centers for residents who do not wish to contract with a private hauler. If you live within the Cumming city limits contact the city of Cumming at (770) 781-2019 to inquire about services provided. For residents outside of Cumming, there are a number of private waste haulers that provide curbside waste and recycling services for a nominal fee (see list inked below). Please note the county does not endorse any provider. 

Before choosing a hauling company, it may be helpful to note a list of questions to determine if one meets your needs more than another. Some points to consider are:

  • Do they collect bulky items? 
  • Do they collect yard waste? 
  • Do they offer curbside recycling? 
  • What day of the week do they pick up?  
  • Does your HOA require a specific hauler?
