Water Intake Fieldwork Continues, Expect Intermittent Lane Closures

Work on the Forsyth County Water Intake continues.

Crews will be conducting fieldwork at several locations along Pilgrim Mill Road (between Holtzclaw Road and Tidwell Park) during the last three weeks of January 2024 for the Forsyth County Water Intake Transmission Main. The work will be performed between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day, weather permitting.

Expect lane closures and delays.

What fieldwork are the crews doing? Crews will be performing soil boring, also called geotechnical boring, which is a technique used to investigate and determine soil composition and conditions at a site where construction is planned.

The completed Forsyth County Water Intake Transmission Main will convey raw water from the new Forsyth County Water Intake Pump Station to our existing Antioch Water Treatment Plant raw water pipeline. Learn more about the project: https://www.forsythco.com/waterintake.
