Two Finalists Named for Position of Forsyth County Manager

The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners has announced two finalists for the position of county manager following the departure of existing County Manager Kevin Tanner. The candidates under consideration for the position are:

-             Assistant County Manager Brandon Kenney

-             Assistant County Manager David McKee

The attached notice pursuant to the requirements of O.C.G.A. 50-18-72(a)(11), found below, provides further details.

Kenney has served in the position of assistant county manager since June 2021. Kenney currently oversees the Planning and Community Development, Parks and Recreation, Senior Services, Code Compliance and Animal Services Departments. Kenney has served as CIO since Sept. 2016. In that role, he managed and administered the County’s information technology initiatives and activities by leading the Information Systems & Technology (IS&T) and Geographic Information Services (GIS) Departments.

McKee has served in the position of assistant county manager since April 2021. McKee currently oversees operations of the County’s Engineering, Recycling & Solid Waste, Fleet Services, Water and Sewer, Public Transportation and Public Facilities departments. He also serves as the executive manager for all transportation related activities and responsibilities and is the County’s key contact with the Georgia Department of Transportation.

The mission of the County Manager's Office is to manage day-to-day operations of the county on behalf of the Chairman and Board of Commissioners, to ensure that tax dollars are spent and accounted for in a responsible manner and to respond to the needs and concerns of the citizens of Forsyth County. 

No final vote or action on this appointment will occur until, at least, December 8, 2022.
