Public Hearing Regarding Land Disturbance Permit Moratorium

Update: At their meeting January 19, 2017, the Board of Commissioners approved extension of the moratorium until March 20, 2017.

The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on January 19, 2017, to consider a possible extension, until March 20, 2017, of the temporary moratorium adopted December 20, 2016, on the acceptance of applications for land disturbance permits for uses identified in Chapter 12 of the Unified Development Code and commercial components within an MPD on property located wholly or partially in a quadrilateral area bounded by lines connecting corners located at the following intersections: Browns Bridge Road and Six Mile Ridge Road, Hopewell Road and Dahlonega Highway, Matt Highway and Bannister Road, and Keith Bridge Road and Dahlonega Highway (with all properties located at the intersections included in the moratorium area). The Board of Commissioners may also consider expanding the moratorium to include acceptance of applications for building permits for the same uses on property located in the same area.  The public hearing will take place at the board’s regular meeting on January 19, 2017, at 5:00 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room, Suite 220 of the Forsyth County Administration Building.  All Forsyth County residents and any other affected and/or interested persons are invited and encouraged to attend.
