New Forsyth County Commissioner Sworn In
November 14, 2017: In a ceremony held today at the Forsyth County Administration Building, the newest member of the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners took his oath of office. Newly-elected Forsyth County District 2 Commissioner Dennis T. Brown was sworn in during the ceremony by Forsyth County Probate Judge Woody Jordan.
The Board of Commissioners is made up of five members, each living in a specific district and elected by their district to serve four-year terms. District 2 covers much of the southern portion of the county. Brown fills the unexpired term of Rick Swope, who resigned from the post in August. Brown’s term runs through December 31, 2020.
